North Haledon’s Little League Kicks Off the Spring Season With A New Scoreboard

When residents think of an exciting, opening day of baseball, the presence of a local bank may not come to mind. However, “Team Columbia”, of Columbia Bank, attended recent festivities at the North Haledon Recreation Fields. The event showcased hand-made team banners through a parade, led by the North Haledon police motorcycle fleet and the Manchester Regional High School Drumline. Then, Columbia Bank’s North Haledon Branch Manager, Divinity Montijo led in the singing of the National Anthem before the Recreation Commission unveiled a brand-new scoreboard funded by Columbia Bank.

“We recognize the critical role local sports play in not only shaping our youth but bringing communities together,” said Thomas J. Kemly, President and CEO of Columbia Bank. “We are proud to invest in such a meaningful part of the field, but most importantly, the impactful memories that will be created there.”

The new scoreboard will be enjoyed by players and spectators during the 2024 Little League season and beyond. Columbia Bank’s North Haledon branch is located at 33 Sicomac Road and can be reached at (201) 421-2386.
